Duck ID question?....

Brother-in-law killed a crazy duck this week. The duck had characteristics from both hen and drake mallard. Had a partial green head, white ring around his/her neck, drake wings, drake tail feathers. Hen bill, and breast, and partial hen colored head. If I knew how to post pics on here I would do so or maybe somebody can do it for me. I've hunted for a long time and never seen anything like this. Just wondering if anybody else has seen or heard of anything like this? What would he/she count toward a limit? He/she didn't make a peep ( no quack or drake whistle) just sailed into the decoys and got shot. Cross dresser? What the crap!

could be two things,

1. immature drake, would be pretty odd this late in the year.
2. old hen making male duck harmones.

I guess hemorfradit'e could also be a possibility.

Thanks for posting pics redneck. Sorry teul that's the best I can do on the bill for now. He/she is going to taxidermist this week, when he unwraps IT I will try to get a better pic of bill. It looks like a typical hen bill to me.

Take a pic of the white bars in the speculum and you'll have your answer. Learned that from RR2. Top white line on Drake will end over top of speculum. Top line on hen will extend past speculum to body.
