Re: 94.7 and 93.9 now Christian radio in Jackson
93.9 is now Air1, Christian Rock and more upbeat songs
94.7 is now K Love, has a broader reach than the 100.9 frequency
100.9 is still K Love but will be going away from what I understand
Owners of 100.9 bought 93.9 and 94.7 frequencies in the area. 94.7 could reach further so they moved K Love to it for obvious reasons. 100.9 will be another different type of Christian radio station at some point.

+1 it definitely helps my attitude and outlook for the day to listen to this station as opposed to others.ol'man wrote:farmerc83 wrote:what station is k-love? Is it christian?ol'man wrote:

I just discovered 100.9 in Jackson. Unless this is a special program I happen to be listening to? This is the best station we've ever had!!
I've never heard a phish song on any radio station before...

Glad I have a mp3 player in my truck. Don't have to worry about programming changing. I would do away with my radio if had to listen to the sad excuse that is country music or christian music all day.

They play good jams. I would love for that station to get some more amps so they can get better coverage in spots. They play some Panic every once in a while as well.

Re: 94.7 and 93.9 now Christian radio in Jackson
I have not heard a single commercial on this radio station either. How is this possible?
It's not all deep track classic rock or jam music. Its like the original tunes till two with deep track soul, r&b, and blues thrown in for good measure. Nothing that I've heard so far has made me want to change channels.
I sure hope this is the wave of the future for public radio?

More than likely he'll eventually need more power or bandwidth and sell the stations soul to Carter jewelers and Morgan and Morgan 30 seconds at a time.

Re: 94.7 and 93.9 now Christian radio in Jackson
Kind of a "long-ago" stretch, but does anybody remember when 94.7 was 94 Tyx? Was the only station me and my older brother listened to when we lived in Brandon in '88-'90. Hair bands, metal, back when MTV actually played music videos, and big named bands actually came to Jackson. Man I've gotten old(er).

I rarely listen to am/fm unless it Gallo or another talk radio show I'm into. Most of the time I'm streaming Pandora and have it tailored to my style...

Re: 94.7 and 93.9 now Christian radio in Jackson
There is an article about this in the Jackson Free Press. I saw it while waiting in the lunch line yesterday. Something about the station is owned by a Memphis based company and they currently don't have it leased to anyone. So the local contract engineer is streaming out his own tunes...or something along these lines...Wildfowler wrote:I have not heard a single commercial on this radio station either.
