On 1000 acres of flooded rice I saw maybe 40 ducks this morning. :x

Usually by this time we're pounding mallards, right now we only have trashy divers. I would rather sleep in than shoot them things.

It is this time of year...just seems like our numbers are very low compared to usual. Not saying that we always slaughter ducks, just that I figured with the cold front, ducks shoulda showed up

It's so much water in Arkansas on the White and Cache river bottoms..... Also the Arkansas river between Little Rock and Fort Smith is above its norm. East Oklahoma and South Missouri has lots of water too... We need some receding of water levels in those areas!! We are headed to West Oklahoma tomorrrow to hunt with a few friends for 4 or 5 days, I will post a report. The same friends mashed the mallards the last couple of days in Southwest Missouri. He said the rivers are out and the green timber is the happening spot. Bad thing, water with current.... gonna take some extreme cold weather or the water receding. They won't make it to us if one of the two don't happen!!
This is just my opinion, seems like here lately my opinion isn't right!!! I hope I'm wrong in big way!!
