How cool is that! Cheers for Tommy and Alan! That is a great thing to do for such a wonderful young man.
I remember the 25th N. LA test where Tommy ran. Not a dry eye in the house.

Mark, maybe you should post the Blog on the HRC website, might make a few people stand up and take notice.
Re: Way to go Copiah Creek and Tommy Harp!
I will wait until after the Landers get the letter from the HRC EC before I do that. I want to see if they really go through with that decision.

Re: Way to go Copiah Creek and Tommy Harp!
I do not personally know what happened at the Grand. Copiah Creek was on the honor bucket when it happened, he may be able to tell you.
I have been informed, that the EC had a teleconf last week, with the Grand committee on the line, and voted as temporary policy that Tommy cannot run the Grand with an assistant, if the assistant has to become physically involved in any way handling the dog. There was one dissenting vote. Benny Landers has been called by the EC (Vice-President) and informed of this decision, and I do not know if the "follow up letter" from the EC has been sent to him. I do know that the letter to the Landers has been composed.
If anyone feels the need to argue with me about what was written above, don't bother. My information came directly from the member of the EC that voted against the "policy change." This is not a secret, lots of people know about it.
It is unclear to me, with this "policy change" if Tommy will ever be able to run any HRC event again, due to his disabilities. I hope that he can. I am sickened by this development.
Thus, I applaud the MN, the MNRC, the AKC and Allan Sandifer and Tommy Harp for thier work to be sure Tommy is able to run the MN.
For those that disagree with this decision, or are disgusted by it, I suggest you contact the members of the EC personally and let them know your views. If HRC is supposed to be a family, then its time we started being a family.

GC thanks for putting this out there. I have a grand daughter that I hope one day will be following in Tommy’s footsteps. She has Down syndrome and truly loves dogs and watching and helping me work mine. I am training a dog now that I hope she will be running in a couple of years if capable of doing so. I really hope HRC has not shot their self in the foot on this one. I want to congratulate Allen and Tommy and everyone involved with this for already winning the largest and most special prize at the Master National.
