Thanks everyone for the prayers. I know you understand how much we value our girl. Lab work came back normal, so as far as the "episodes" are concerned, we are still observing & trying to see if there's a pattern.

Here's the deal, though, in the exam for that issue, vet found a heart murmur that wasn't there in September during her annual check-up. XRays have been sent to MS State & the vet will be conducting blood cultures in the next few days. Most likely is early stage of Endocarditis . . .that's a new, big scary word to me. After blood cultures are taken, we'll be starting her on antibiotics just in case.

The two issues may or may not be related. I think we may wind up being thankful for the issue that took us to the vet, because it hopefully has helped us discover the other early before too much damage is done to her heart.

Again, right now she can train, hunt & campaign as normal. We are just going to take the best care of her possible.

Hi all. We started Ellie Mae on antibiotics Thursday. Waiting for more test results.

On top of worrying about EMD, we had to let go of our old Boss Catt Scruffy after a great run of 20-1/2 years on Thursday eventing as well. Poor GulfCoast & EMD had to watch me cry all night that night.

If we could have figured out a way to teach Scruffy how to handle EMD on blinds . . . the sky would have been the limit. EMD wouldn't DARE ever give Boss Catt a cast refusal.

We love all our furry friends and give them the best life we can while we have them. That's the best we can do.

MS State wants further tests. Basically, they want a full cardiac workup immediately. They now advise limiting EMD's activity at this time. I'll be trying to clear my work schedule for the end of the week to take her up there.
