Red Letter Days by Dr. Wayne Caputh......I had the pleasure of hunting with him a few years ago. You will enjoy his stories

I'm in the middle of reading The Golden Age of Waterfowling by Dr. Capooth. So far it hasn't contained many stories but it is very factual with lots of newspaper clippings and such from the turn of the century. It is pretty cool reading about how things were at some of the places I hunt now.

I enjoyed this book as well. My grandfather gave it to me. It gets tough to read in some places but overall a great read.

I assume you don't want dated, regional "how to" garbage. Start with Van Campen Heilner's "A Book on Duck Shooting." Its out of print, easily found on bibliofind and such, and a must have. Worth Mathewson's Big December Canvasbacks is very good. Any Gorden McQuarrie collection is great.

My dad may still have some copies of the late Dr. Chubby Andrews' book Nash Buckingham, Beaver Dam and Other Hunting Tales. Lots of great hunting stories. I'll check and see if he has any left.

Great book, and The Golden Age of Hunting was equally as good. Nash Buckingham's The Shootinest Gentleman.

This is a good book, but it has absolutely nothing to do with duck hunting.

The really good books written on duck hunting have been out of print for 75 years or better.
