Who has a tundra with a 4.7? looking for some feedback

Postby Greenhead329 » Fri Dec 17, 2010 10:10 pm

Going to test drive one tommorow wanting some info as far as likes/dislikes from owners thanks. Right now its a truck to get my by, but also wondering how it would perform as a work truck if needed.
It would be carrying around a 1,000 lb utility box in the bed.

Got the 5.7 in mine, it's an absolute beast but way more power than I need 99.42% of the time. Next one I'm going to look hard at the 4.7, I understand they hopped it up this year.

The new toyota small V8 is actually a 4.6L engine. The specs look pretty good especially compared to other bigger engines like the 5.3L with better gas mileage. I would also like to hear how you like the 4.6.

Yes!

My ex-wife builds the Tundra engines at the plant in Huntsville, AL.

The 4.6 V-8 is VERY high-tech and gets better MPG than the previous 4.7 or 5.7s.

I sold Toyotas when the 5.7 was the best engine on the market, now I think I would go with the 4.6.

God Bless you

I have the 5.7L in my '08 crewmax. After I put my mud grips on in the fall, my gas mileage is now 13mpg. The 4.6 is a good engine from what I've read. I think if I were to buy another tundra, I would get the 4.6. It has plenty of power and gets WAY better gas mileage.
