I have no doubt that Cam Newton was indeed the best player in college football this season. But the question at hand is: Was he an ELIGIBLE football player...

I would have to agree that he is deserving of the award. However, did anyone else hear his acceptance speech? He said something to the effect that he thanks his mom and dad because they do a lot of things "behind the scenes". He said a mouth full with that comment.
