christmas lights

Postby southernr » Sun Nov 14, 2010 4:10 pm

Anybody know where you can buy lights and other decorations for a good price. This will be our first Christmas as homeowners so we have to buy everything since we have zero Christmas stuff. Looked at Lowes today and before I went through with a purchase I just wanted to see if you guys had any suggestions. Also, if you have any tips go ahead and put them out there. I'm sure this will be a learning experience.

Get the LED's. You can only link 3 strands of the others.

+1 on the LED. They cost a little more but are all around better.

Ok, here is my one shameless plug.

Come to Fads & Frames in Clinton. It's right across from the Wal-Mart and next door to Cowboy Maloney's on Highway 80. Plenty of Christmas stuff. More than you need, really, and at a very good price. Come anytime on Saturday or on Sunday afternoon and introduce yourself. Trust me on this, your wife will love it.

End of shameless, yet appropriate, plug.

Well I would say if this is your first christmas as a new home owner, i wouldnt get to wild with it. It can get expensive fast and you can get burnt out on it easy from one year to the next. Just buy enough lights, decorations that looks good. Then each year you add something new, replace a few lights etc... Next thing you know you will be the Griswalds.

Try to do just enough to get by at first. Then after Christmas load up on lights and anything else for 1/2 off or more savings.
