Ask DuckSouth - lost cell phone
I have/had a new phone with a new contract and now have lost the phone. They want $400+ to buy a replacement blackberry at AT&T. Can you buy phones at a different place for less and have AT&T activate it? Other thoughts? Thanks.

I had something similar happen to me. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a cheap Go-phone, put my SIM card in and was good to go. I think some of the repair shops sell reconditioned phones as well.

The problem is going to be not having your sim card. They'll charge for the sim card and re-activation.......but like said above, it's a good bit cheaper if you buy one on ebay, craigslist, etc and go to AT&T and get your new sim card. That's why I love my iphone with MobileMe. It'll show me where it's at on Google earth.

Along those same lines, is there some way you can save all your information/numbers/etc. on your computer? I'm with CellSouth/Blackberry Curve.
