Reunited with my pup...after deployment

Shortly before I deployed, I had gotten a puppy from Mike Perry at Runnin Rebel Retrievers, in Townley, AL. I wanted to have this pup become a very nice trained hunting companion with the possibility of running her in some hunt tests. Mike told me to bring the pup back to him and that he would train her up for me while I was gone. Besides an appx. 30 min visit with her while on R&R I had not seen her for over a year. Upon my return from overseas, Mike sent me a message letting me know that he had accomplished her Seasoned HRC title after going 2 for 2 in started. (5 for 6 overall) Included in the message, he told me not to worry about the training fees, vet bills, entry fees, etc. I was floored by this action. I could not believe what I was hearing. Mike took a year of his time to give me a quality puppy and asked for nothing in return. I really can't even put into words what that means to me. I dont have any kids, so besides my family --- this was one of the biggest things I looked forward to coming home to and Mike just made it that much sweeter to get. I will forever be thankful for those actions. Thanks a lot Mike.

Now that I am home, I picked her up and she is a fabulous 18 month old seasoned retriever out of Punch and an HRCH Carbon bitch. I am really looking forward to starting to establish our relationship today and throughout the next few weeks.

What Mike did for me speaks volumes for the retriever community and I am very proud (and thankful) to have become a part of something that has the character of folks such as Mike tied to it.

Hopefully, as I progress as a handler, you'll see me leading "Siege" to her HRCH title sometime next year.

Thank you all for everything you do for the hunting retriever community and the support most all of you show to our men and women serving overseas. It truly does make a difference and means so very much.

Charles, this is the dog that I had on Sunday when you and Jason were judging. You may not remember, but what a providencial no bird after she did not see the left hand memory bird on land. Got a new set of marks and she smacked them.
