Never used one, looks like a tough gun and its a Rem pump so how bad could it be?

I bought one the other day. I still don't know why.. :D :D But the gun is the same action as the 870 Pump from Remington. Just dressed in the armor lock stuff. Haven't shot it yet, but if it is half as good as the 870 then you shouldn't have any issue.

My son won one last year. We've all shot it, and it points and shoots like an 870 with a thick barrel. only gripe we have is when you load it, you've got to slam it shut.... or it doesnt lock and wont shoot. doesnt seem to be an issue when cycling for a 2nd and 3rd shot, just when you load it. rotary bolt, so hopefully as it wears in it will get better. bolt release is on front of trigger guard takes a little getting used to, when you've used an 870 for 25 years, and sucks with gloves on. but no rust and thats better than any of the expresses we've bought over the last 10 years. travis

Shot one all last season. Not a bad gun. Like others have said it points a lot like an 870. It's good if you have big hands because the fore end is so big. I beat it up pretty good to see what it would take and it took everything I threw at it. I did knock the bead off in the boat one morning but I don't look at it when I shoot anyway. I just shot the factory mod. all year and it patterned ok with xperts, better with kents, and seemed to be the best with federals. I never shot any remington shells out of it. Black clouds sucked out of it, even with a black cloud choke. I bought a used comp-n-choke turkey choke from a buddy and killed 2 turkeys with it this year - one at 12 steps and one at about 35 yards. It's the softest shooting pump I've ever shot. Overall I think it's a good gun but not necessarily any better than any other pump available but probably not as good as a BPS. It's a tough gun and works great for breaking ice before dawn. I got it out the other day to take it to shoot clays and it still had some turkey blood on it, but it didn't mind. It did freak the wife out a little though. :D However, FWIW, I'm shooting a Maxus this year. The 887 is kind of clunky and did have a propensity to eject 2 shells from the magazine at the worst possible times. I cleaned the whole action and magazine tube and it didn't seem to make a difference so I don't know what's going on. I bought the Maxus at the end of turkey season so I haven't fooled with the 887 much since then.
