I'd be surprised if it happens. Can barely fill the 50k seats we currently have on a regular basis. Maybe there's a lot of "private funds" out there to make it happen though.

I heard the first thing they might do is take the chairbacks on the West side and make them club level and Luxury boxes, then later on enclose the endzone.

I heard they were planning on enclosing the north endzone and increasing capacity to 75,000, but I have heard no more talk about it since spring.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

They said they were in the "early talking phase" of it. I dont really know what that means.

Playing the rest of the teams in the SEC, but the stadium will be half empty when at half time when all the State fans leave because they are getting stomped

I was asking seriously...what is it going to take in order for MS State to fill up a 75k seat stadium often enough to justify the expense? I mean, currently I don't think it's that much of a stretch to say you'd have some empty seats. I ask this question, and I am being serious, is the MSU athletic supporters broad enough for that....with Ole Miss at their pinnacle recently (last decade-ish) and national implication abounding, getting 70k in the stadium for a game against a well traveling opponent was the biggest stretch (and Ole Miss is ALOT closer to Memphis)....so again I ask....at a school in a similar geographical region with less tradition in football and further from a major city (airport, tourism, etc), what will it take for anyone to make a informed deicsion about expanding Davis-Wade to 75k?

Is that posed less "peanut gallery" for you?

I dont know, but I assume new attendence records set every year is their justification. I dont know if they can get 75,000 seats filled, or if theyre even gonna do it, hence the reason for the post in the first place.

I think MS State or Ole Miss either one could win a championship, and still have a hard time putting 75k in the stadium often enough to spend the money....just my opinion

very valid point.

the justification i have heard is with the increase in enrollment and the plan for increased enrollment of over 20k students by Fall 2011. its not the extra 1k or 2k students tickets but the families who will now be attending more games because the baby is off to school.

tickets dont pay for expansion by themselves........rich folks do
