i do have a number for an old man in louisiana, but he's 3.5 hrs away and i'm not sure whether he ships or not......and, i'm a little leary about buying wood site unseen.

anyhow, i'll come across some at some point, justin

What you saying only a topwater would try this?

U think it will work, once I lay down some detail, I can't imagine it looking worse than a feather flex

dude, that is a $5.44 pine 1x12, and I freehanded the pattern in 5 minutes, amazing what I can get done when the wife is working late. I was upset cause after working up the pattern the $3 1x12 would definitely have been big enough. Maybe you should be carving HD 2x12's like John Lawrence does? If all goes to plan this thing will have half a grand slam under its belt this year. I finished it last night, if wife gets pictures to me today, I'll post.

thought about the 2x12's alah john, but i'd like to carve some good wood first. don't feel like better my brains in on that stuff yet......got someone from wendlewood over on the carvers station working w/ me.......i'm waiting on a price but it doesn't sound bad - white cedar.

gonna get about 40 bd/ft to start....i'll save ya some to see if you like it.....if so, we can order some larger orders and split.

just a thought.........post up the turkey.

I am hoping she keeps that grass in the backyard down so that I don't have to mow it during turkey season
