Re: Noxebee Refuge
For easy access with a proven history I recommend hole 11 or 13.

Re: Noxebee Refuge
I second what dt said, I suggest calling before you go (to make sure they are not in flood stage).

Re: Noxebee Refuge
I got a first hand report from a buddy that hunted there about a week ago and they zero'd.

Down memory lane, huh? '67-'71...What's a draw?...16 shell limit, ducks were point system, if the ducks are above the trees outa range.
One armed GW, Johnny MacDawkins, wading around in hip boots telling you how many times you'd already shot. Lotta mallets then but more in the Democrats' bean fields north of Starkburg, Pheba. The golf course honkers were being raised in pens by the sanctuary. Pre Tombigbee Waterway and Bloody 82 to the "W" 2 lane. James Brown at the Go GO Beach Club....Get your advanced tickets at the Red Red Rooster in West Point. Jerry Lee Lewis destroying pianos at the Silver Spur, Columbus.
Sigh....

1967 - I signed in, walked to the a nice opening way back in the back of the Greentree. Not many flying. About 7:30 I work a single greenhead around about 8 or 10 times. He finally dropped his landing gear way out in the woods. Made a long shot on him. Walked over to pick him up and Johnny 2 fingers stuck out those 2 stubs and half a thumb and said "Nice shot, let me check your license." - Got checked going back out.- Never went back.

Re: Noxebee Refuge
Lived in starkville for 5 years never hunted there once. There are much better places to hunt.
Re: Noxebee Refuge
where are the better places to hunt? I would love to find somewhere I could hunt without needing a boat!
If it just sits there, It still dies!

Nickle please if I told you on here all hell would break loose
Re: Noxebee Refuge
Thanks for all the replies and pms but, I got most of them to late
my bro-in-law chose #8....and we didn't shoot $#!+. The "hole" was locked up tight and nothing much flying. And just for future reference I'm not sure there is ANY way to hunt 8 if it's frozen. Water's only ankle deep and the grass is knee high so all you can do with ice is make a slurry. There was some shooting this morning but not much.

Where'd who go?
Re: Noxebee Refuge
Well we were in 22 this morning and only saw about 15 birds...the only way we were able to hunt was by using the boat to break ice. At least an inch of ice about shin deep, so my shins are swollen and for nothing! Miserable morning.
