How many people?
On this website make 100K a year or more? Judging by the Bush support, I would guess 95 to 98 percent. Most issues the dems scare me with are well within my control. Religion is my decision, not the govs. Just read the constitution. Guns are my right and I'm not so opposed to background checks to keep guns out of the wrong hands when purchased new, but I think we can all agree that you will never keep guns out of the hands of criminals. When it comes to policy to keep Americans working, cleaner air and enviroment, and uneeded wars though, I have no control. Thus it is left up to our elected officials.

Featherduster-it's not their income- they're from Ms. they can't help it. This is not meant in a duragatory way, it's just that people are a product of their environment. It's hard to overcome a mindset that has has been instilled since birth.

mbd1 - please elaborate. That's is a pretty pompous statement to put on a MS hunting site.

I believe the support comes not from those, like myself, that do not make 100K a year or more, but those of us who work for someone or some firm that does!!
It will always be the nature of politics that the very ones that benefit most from government programs are the ones that will complain the most about their tax dollars going to the programs.

harrell, only 4% of Americans make over $100k per year...
Democrats general philosophy is that government is there to protect and take care of you and the world around you. They really believe they are doing good by telling you what you can & can't do, by regulating everything a factory & company does, and by taking from the rich and protecting the poor. They want everyone to have healthcare, free prescriptions and a good income. But by trying to do good, they do harm. they are into 'feelings' ....
Republicans believe in the general good of man. Freedom of choices. And that America is a land of opportunity. If a fella won't work, let him starve. but let him have the opportunity to be successful. to think for himself. to provide for his family through his own work and drive. if he makes the money, let him keep it, and invest it or spend it the way he sees fit.
i work with guys that own businesses. they pay 45% of their income in taxes. if they did not pay this to the government, they would spend it on making their business better and bigger. putting more people to work.
what gives the government the right to take almost half of what a guy makes ??

Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

I work on construction so I already know that I am dumb, stupid, and don't know how to spell. You are from a conservative state in the bible belt,so most people hold conservative views and I think that is a fair statement. I've had my butt whipped before so you won't be breaking any new ground there.

mdb1,
Careful there. I see what you're getting at, but believe it or not, we can think for ourselves down here. In fact, it's gotten us in more than our fair share of trouble in the past. My liberal friends say I'm too conservative. My conservative friends say I'm too liberal. Regardless, last thing I need is somebody who doesn't know a thing about me stuffin' me into some stereotype because of where I'm from.
Oh yeah, quit short-stopping our ducks.

You like to stereotype. You just called construction workers stupid and everyone in MS conservative. Anyone who actually knows anything about MS will tell you that when the capitol city is 73% black (although not all are dems), everyone in the state is not conservative.
