Just had my last hunt with my son . It will be a long time before we have another off to the USMC. Looks like it's back to me

I have always enjoyed hunting with my dad. It finally has gotten to where I get him to go with me instead of the other way around. We finally have him duck hunting now which is quite an adventure. Now that I have moved away from home and have gotten married, I cherish the time I do get to be able to go on hunts with him.

Prayers sent for your son for a safe return home.
My brother is actually picking up a buddy of ours right now from the airport that has come home on a short leave.

God bless him and your family at Christmas.....

I know what you mean.....As I got older....I "needed" my Grandpa less and less....never realized that as he got older, he "needed" me more and more....Man, what I would give to hug him one more time...There are so many things that I would apologize for...I love him to this day and no one will ever take his place in my heart....

I was just one of those know it all dumb sob's that we call our kids....Wish I could do it all over again....It would be different....

God's Blessings to your son; please thank him for his service to our country.

I can empathize with your feelings on losing your hunting partner; I have 3 daughters and they all love to duck hunt (espescially at our camp in the Delta).

My oldest daughter and I have been planning for 6 month to come over and hunt for 8-10 days after Christmas, but she told me Wednesday that she would like to return home early to attend a New Year's Eve party. Now I've got to compete against the high school social scene as well as her ballet studio to spend time in a pit blind with her.
