check www.vrbo.com - you can rent direct from the homeowner to cut-out the middleman.

http://www.yourcabin.com/

these are the best in the area, imo. i've rented from them 3-4 times, each time a new cabin, and never been disappointed with the cabin or the service.

make sure you hit cades cove, btw.

a wise man once told me, "if you can't go first class, keep your booty at the house."

we used to get 2-3 couples in one of those 3-4 bedrooms, and it actually came out cheaper than a hotel. much better views and amenities, too.

actually its in sevierville, but you go right past it to get to gatlinburg. We use colonial propertys every year. depending on what you are going to do up there is where i would focus on which city. there is alot more places to eat and shop at in pigeon forge, but the strip in gatlinburg is like 15 minutes away. sight seeing might be limited to because some of the roads in the national forest is closed cause they are seasonal.

Trout fishing in all the streams in gatlin burg is the best on friday mornings, check regulations on bait cause it varies with season. If you can use bait go and get a can of whole kernal corn and bring a cooler. light spinning tackle is the best.

The people that own these are good Mississippi folks that I've met. Have never been to the cabins but my niece is staying at one of them next month.

www.firesidechalets.com

Used them the last 3 times we've been and we've been impressed everytime. Great cabins, nice people and great locations.
If the birds are flying great, but if not, enjoy the time; at least you're not at work.
