I don't shoot them but have heard good about them. You will hear good and bad about every broadhead that you discuss with someone, find something that works for you and stick with it!

Montecs are good and strong, but it's very difficult to get them really sharp.

I shoot the G5's and love them, however I did lose a pretty nice buck last year and couldn't find blood anywhere. It was my fault and the shot placement was off. I have been shooting them for 3 years now and have only lost that one deer out of 7. give them a shot. they fly like a field tip too.

cant believe noone has mentioned the RAGE yet. If you cant beat them, join them. Unless you hit them in the shoulder and dont get any penetration (sorry chopper). Put it in the meat and let them eat. Save the shoulder for the lead.

I shot a 20 inch 7 point straight through the shoulder at 12 yards last year with a rage two blade. I got 10 inches of penetration and he dropped 30 yards away. I use rage exclusively and have had great results with it.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that about rage's and if it's not that it's well it opened in flight.

Rages are not made to go through a shoulder much like your traditional heads like the muzzys or thunder heads. you can put the rage almost anywhere BEHIND the shoulder and I will gaurantee that you find your deer, or your money back. Thats what they advertise.Rage are bad booty hands down. Never heard that they open in flight and i think thats a bunch of BS. Never had one open in flight and ive shot them in 6 deer that i found and well over 1000 times into a target.

You can put a field tip right behind the shoulder and find your deer too and it doesn't have to open when it get's there or before it get's there. Did you shoot the actual heads you hunt with or the rage practice heads a 1000 time's into the target? If you shot the practice heads into the target they don't open at all snd if you have only shot at 6 deer with the real heads then keep shooting them and watch it open in flight, you will know it when it happens and it has happened to me more than once. I went back to thunderheads because in opinion they are the best broadhead made for the money.

Put a pod behind that rage and penetration is no problem. Lost 0 deer last year with em and hands down the biggest blood trail of any head I have ever shot. Hit bone and you better hope you got a pod on there. I have had a problem with blades coming open trying to manuever arrow around limbs etc but that would be the only problem.

Shot the rage for 2 years, dont like the fact that they open so easy. Had to release draw last year because one opened on me at full draw. Going back to the old faithful 100 grain, Muzzy.
