Ok, I stand corrected. Regardless, you get my point. A higher percentage of the "foreign" vehicles sold here in the U.S.A. are made right here in the U.S.A. The "Domestic" auto makers are making a larger percentage of their vehicles overseas. In fact, if you look at the dealer sticker on a new car, you will see - along with the overprices of the options for that said vehicle - the percentages for how much of that vehicle is made in the U.S.A. and how much is made overseas.

Every single vehicle I have ever purchased has been a Chevy. UNTIL! Last week, my wife and I bought a Honda. The one we wanted was made in Ohio; but it had a small scratch on the door, so we got an identical one that was made in Ontario, Canada.

I will be getting a new truck by winter, and it will be a 'foreign' truck. I will not buy a Chinese made GM. (They want me to buy one of their next generation vehicles? Then they need to bring those jobs back to Michigan where they belong. If they can't? Then let GM and Chrysler go the way of the Dodo bird and be done with them.)

Sorry for the rant, but that's my $0.02.

Everybody has talked price, price, price on a Nissan and how long their Toyota has lasted and how much they like it, but nobody has given a single, hard reason that a Toyota will out perform a Ford.

Comparing the price of a Nissan to a Ford is like comparing apples to oranges. Yeah they are both trucks, but that's where the comparison ends. If you want a truck to jsut drive up and down the road, then buy a Nissan, but if you plan on using a truck like a truck, then buy a Ford.

SJ, friends and family VPP of Nissan equates to, about $100 ( that would be a D plan ) below invoice depending on the vehicle, average is that though. There are several different Vpp plans. A plan is the best plan, for employees ONLY.Sounds like that's what you are refering to. Employees can't give out an A plan. They should really have a class on that at the Canton plant. Get a VPP D plan and I'll bet you any amount I can get a BETTER discount on a ford, chevy, toyota, or dodge truck. Vpp does give a really good discount on the % rate and the warranty when you finance it with NMAC. If you have any questions let me know and I'll get you more facts.

No disrespect Dad, but here are the facts. I can't speak for ford, chevy, toyota or dodge, but this is how it works @ Nissan.

A Plan = Nissan Employees & their immediate family - (4.3% off dealer invoice)
B Plan = Nissan Affiliates (suppliers) & their immediate family (4.3% off dealer invoice)
C Plan = Extended Family & Friends of Nissan Employees (2.87% off dealer invoice)
D Plan = Not applicable to me, but I believe it is affilates ext fam & friends. Not sure what the % is on that though - must be about 1/2% based on your $100 figure.

Don't the Titans get terrible gas mileage...??

I rented one last year in Nebraska on a hunting trip and I swear you could see the gas gauge moving. They have alot of tourque, but that goes hand in hand with sucking down the gas mileage. I really like the looks of the Titan, but unfortunately given the current gas prices, mileage is a important issue these days.

I currently drive a '03 Z71 that has been a great truck, but I hate the look of the new Chevys.... I am really torn on what to buy next. I don't like the height of the bedside on the Fords. I am 6'1", but it is still too tall for most anyone outside of someone who plays in the NBA. They gave the 2010 a pull down step.

I might go GMC....they don't look quite as generic as the Chevys.

I had a 4 door 4wd nissan titan as a company truck, and i used to burn at least $120 of gas a day in that thing back when gas prices were up. with that being said i loved that truck, i would still by one of the titans as long as it was not my everyday driver or if it was and i didnt have far to go everyday.

All 4x4 trucks drink gas except for a chevy. 18-20 mpg is a lot better than 12-15 with the others.

16 is the best I was ever able to get when mine was new. I hear it gets better over time, but I haven't verified that. Doesn't even matter anymore.....obama's gonna make em' all get 30mpg!

When you compare MPG you have to take into account that a Titan is a 5.6 and a Chevy is a 5.3.. Also you have to look at the gear ratio in the truck.. We had an Armada that got about 17 on the hwy and 13 in town.. My 99 chevy in 5.7 won't do that.. Sure the new chevy's give you 20 on the hwy, but in order to get that you have to give something up.. Most likely towing capacity.. Towing capacity is a combination of HP, Gear Ratio and Suspension, everything is a trade off..

I guess I'm the ONLY person to ever be displeased with a Toyota...had the first Generation Tundra (a 2001 model) with the 4.7 V-8...yeah it sucked gas but SO, a truck is about as aerodynamic as a brick...if you can't afford the gas buy a Prius/Sentra/Civic....

What I DIDN'T like about the Tundra was it squeaked and rattled more than a 1978 AMC Pacer....that truck made the most awful racket and the multiple dealers that were asked about it never were able to get the thing to quit rattling...I figure it was just a bit of a lemon...can't hold that against all Toyota since it is based on a sample size of ONE truck.....

if I were in the market for a new truck (which the Good Lord willing I won't be for a while), I'd look at the Ford/Nissan/Toyota(even though my last didn't live up to my expectations)....
