Arkansas Duck Boat races.

Postby swampimp » Mon May 04, 2009 8:30 am

Well we gathered yesterday in spite of the rain. We had a big time planned complete with crawfish and the whole 9 yards. Since the weather was what it was we decided friday to postpone the main event to a later date and do crawfish and have Jim Ronquest and the RNT cameras then.

We did gather yesterday though and actually had a decent turn out.

The results with the usernames from the Refuge. The Mega speed is a little exaggerated but he can smoke any other 25 out there and we all knew that going in.......no surprise there.

RNTBUCK......173.2 Mega 25 Tohatsu(just foolin but he's fast)
Swampimp....They don"t want none of this........37.2 DT25 Suzuki
Tim Snapple's bud Huggi Bear 35.4.........DT25
JLA......he was over 35....I think 35.1 (Jim help me out if thats not right) DT25
RKS.....My man wit da plan........33.6 DT25
Winghunting (Smoov Moov)......33.0 DT25
JugHead with the Heavy Chevy SeaArk....32.6 DT25
InClose with the baddest 25 yamaha 2cyl I ever seen....32.0
And a dude from around PB with a 25 Merc hit 31.0

After the GPS speeds were run we did a heads up drag and I dont know......I had done had a couple cold "burr's" by then, but the order above pretty much sums up the way we came in on that deal too.

All I can tell ya is.........MEGA 25's RULE!!!!!!

Thought ya'll might be interested in how it turned out.

Also, when we reschedule the big event......any and all boats are welcome. Mud Motors, 40's, 50's......225's. We just gonna have a good time and hope for good weather.

Made by Tohatsu.........very hard to get ahold of.

I think there were only about 500 of them ever brought over from Japan in the mid 90's

It's a detuned 40 that WAS sold as a 25 so it is legal on the wma's. Just retune as a 40 and presto you hauling booty!

I really don't know what they were.......Buck was using his own GPS.

To me anything over 34 or 35 is fast......real fast. It's tough enough to stay in a boat when you dig into a curve at 30 as it is.

I've gotten 34.4 in my boat buts its a stock 30 on a 1440 with a jack. You right bout the hanging on to a tiller in a tight turn going 30+ but it wouldn't be hunting not doing that.

The racing is half the fun.

My motor was on a 1440 allweld when I got it with a jack plate.......theres no tellin what it would do on that boat and the guy that had it was a little scared of it I think.

May be why he sold it, to get something a little more nice to drive.
