Eli

Postby drake slayer » Sat Dec 13, 2003 9:30 pm

Eli got juped, corso picked Eli to win and when he picks an olemiss player to do something good you know we should get it. Well im glad to see white get it, not really. He clearly was not the best player. Just my opinion anyway.

Disappointed too......i was hopin Eli would get it but, not including Eli, Larry Fitzgerald was the best player. The perry kid had two games this year under 100 yds, 1 with only 26 yds on 11 carries, not Heisman material. As far as White goes, i think he's a very good player, but it will be hard to convince me that he is better than Eli.

Yep, the Manning's got shorted again. Peyton should have won it in '97. You know the media ain't gonna let a southern boy win the Heisman. I could have accepted it a little better if it had been a close vote, but Eli, finishing third :? :? :? :?

We'll see who was the better player is over the next 10 years, when Eli is throwing TD's in the NFL on Sundays and Jason White is selling cars at a car dealership in Norman

Eli who??

Postby Ducks&Bucks18 » Mon Dec 15, 2003 3:05 pm

It was a no brainer that White was going to win the heisman. He is on the best team in the nation with 40 TD's and 8 interceptions. If things went as they should have, Fitzgerald should have won it with Eli finishing second, then White, then Perry. You don't even have an argument saying Eli shold have won with three loses. Fitzgerald is the best player in college football!

Didn't pittsburg lose 4 games? Sounds like you may not have an argument for Fitzgerald. I do agree that it was no surprise who won. Let's start another argument, who gets drafted first out of those four. Could that be the best player.

I think Phillip Rivers will be the first QB taken in the draft. He is a big boy, and he can sling the tater. Eli will go before White.

Look it up...of the last ten Heisman winners, only three have made it big in the NFL. Why, because it takes a different set of skills to be a "great" college player and a great "pro" player. Of the quarterbacks that have won the award, relatively few have gone on to be stars in the pros. That award, once won, means very little as to who is picked first, especially among quarterbacks, in the draft. The only exception is running backs and defensive backs, who usually make the first five picks if they win the H. It's done, I would take genetics over the Heisman Trophy in deciding who will be the first quarterback picked. Hard to ignore a family with a History! The only thing that would have made the Mannings better would be if they had worn maroon and white! :D

I'm sick of hearing about Eli  . He's gone, except for the drumming they'll get in the Independence Bowl or whatever they're playing in  .

Eli is without a doubt the best and I hate Ole Miss. There is no question that he will go way before White in the draft and obviously he is thought to be the best QB by some with him getting the Johnny Unitas award. He has the makings of an awesome pro player. If the first team to draft needs a QB then he will be taken first.

We're playing in the Cotton Bowl, thank you. Where is "your" team playing its bowl game...or is it?

I hope the Saints get Eli. Even if they have to give away the farm like the draft for Ricky Williams :D

Do you guys remeber when Ryan Leaf should have been taken over Peyton? Same thing here....Eli is the best, but surrounded by a team that is only good...not great.

Eli is a better QB than White without a doubt. He will be the first or second QB taken, and should do well in the NFL. Fitzgerald having 4 loses doesn't equally compare to Eli having 3. A QB touches the ball every offensive snap, and has a much bigger role in the overall outcome of the game. A WR gets it 10 times if he is lucky. Fitzgerald is the most talented player in the game this year.
