Been on one hunt like that. Took the bird 45 minutes to all get on the water and about 5 minutes to leave. They ALL stayed about 20 yds out of range. Between 3 and 5 thousand ducks and only got to fire two shots!

I don't think I would care if I even got to shoot, just to be there at the right place and the right time. Spent so many years trying to do just that, the right place and the right time...Dang I get excited with 4 or 5 in the dekes, couldn't imagine 4-5k.

I hear ya... that ties for first place for my most memorable hunt. There were so many ducks you could feel the concussion against your chest from all the wing beats. Truly awesome experience, and I got to share it with my dad and my dog!

99 or 2000 we had several hunts pretty close to that in the hills, but you don't really hunt those you just watch, there gonna do what there gonna do, but yall know that stupid grin ya get when a group starts workin right over head and starts pickin up groups of five and ten and just keeps getting bigger and bigger, seing that stupid grin on everyone in the blinds face is better than getting to shoot......you never forget that day.
