I have used it as a grunt call and grunted deer up, but when I used it as a "growl" they seemed to be scared. They were both 17"+ deer that I was not gonna shoot and i just wanted to see what they did. I saw, and I prolly won't growl anymore  I dang sure have not snort, farted, & sneezed one in either.
There will be a day....

I snort weezed at one last week because I was tired of looking at him, and he took off like a bat out of hell. I have also used the buck roar and had one come in ready to kill something and scared some off. I think it just depends if they are pissed off that day or not.

with a buck roar you have to know that you are in the area of the dominate buck... cause some small 6 or 8 isn't gonna want to come in and try to fight the big daddy... most bucks will run unless they are young and overly curious, or it being the dominate buck in the area and doesn't want another buck in his territory... i have never used one but have also never heard of any real success... i think you really need to know the deer in your area to use one of those...
