They (snows and specks) flew all night last night. Gettin' good gas mileage in that north wind.

totally unrelated to snows / specks, but i saw several hundred ringers this morning when I was excercising the dogs; that is really unusual to see that many divers in NW FL the first week of November.

Let's hope the farmer's almanac predictions are accurate.

Saw a couple thousand snows/blues and about 500 specks in a field near Moorhead on Saturday. Also present were hundreds of pintail, mallard, gadwall, GWT, and shovelers. Another guy reported 15,000 snows and 5,000 specks in that field on another date.

Those suckers get around!! They were over here in Walker county Alabama yesterday morning. There were 4 groups and they were low. It was early so I think they may have roosted the night before on some of the farm ponds around. A friend of mine called around 9:00 and he had seen 3 groups about 50 miles east of me. I've lived on the same property for 26 years and this is the first time we have had snows around, same for my friend. I hope this is an indicator of a good migration this year.
