Best two were in Delta Natl. In the late 60's, my dad and I boated up the Sunflower and out into flooded timber...went way back on a logging trail and then went a ways in the woods. We stopped in a little clearing and set out decoys and pulled the boat out of the clearing. As I was securing the boat, I looked over on a little hump of ground and saw a lump that looked out of place. it was an old rusted out tea pot, the kind that went on a woodstove. The bottom was all gone and all that was left was just the rim and spout, but there was a mark on the spout and I had an antigue guy look at it. He said it was made in the last century and the last like it were used in the early 20th century. I always wondered how that teapot got way out in the woods of Delta Natl. I suppose it could have floated down the river or maybe someone camped there and left it.

Second was when my best bud Hudson and I walked about an hour out in the woods...way before 3-wheelers. We walked up on marlin 30-30 leaning against a tree with an old army rucksack on the ground beside it. Judging by the rough shape of the rifle and the fact that the bottom of the ruck was just about rotten, we figured it had been there at least a year, more likely two. The ruck had some extra shells (not real old), a flashlight, and a very soggy roll of toilet paper. Wonder why someone would have left that in the woods. Maybe there out of season and left in a hurry; maybe walked off to take a leak or worse (but why didn't he take the toilet paper?) and couldn't find his way back. The gun was so rusted up that it couldn't be saved. I think Hud may have used the toilet paper, though!

While fishing with LawDawg I witnessed him snagging a Cananda goose in full flight. The Smoke on the water was due to his thumb trying to slow the de-spooling reel. Simply Awesome.

Blackduck is right. Where Hwy 16 and Satartia-Holly Bluff roads meet.

There was this one time, at band camp, that I saw a girl stick a flute....

Seriously, I saw a bobcat stalk and then chase a yearling deer. Last I saw of them, the deer was leading by several yards. Not sure if it got away or not.

We were hunting one morning in the boat. All of a sudden we heard a loud splash and a small does jumps into the water, then shortly after a cow horned spike jumps in the water after her. She started swimming trying to get away but the ole gal had something he wanted. He got on her and she was still trying to get away in the water then all of a sudden he drowned her.

Very close, it was that white building where Hwy16 takes a 90 degree turn in Holly Bluff. Just down from Delta Grocery.

That's right. Delta Gro is back by the tracks I believe. Been a long time since I was around those parts.

I hunt on a big island in the middle of nowhere....and about once a year I'll find a couple of ballons tied together from a kids birthday party.

I too saw a duck tornado in the woods around my climber while I was bowhunting. Damnest thing I've ever seen!
