Re: San Francisco
This is going back a whilebut was there in 1981. The first thing that struck me, being from New Orleans, is how CLEAN the city was. They actually had street sweepers and took pride(not gay) in the appearance of the city. Did the Golden Gate thing where you walk out on the bridge. Lucked out as it was a rare CLEAR day! My Uncle who I was visiting(lived in San Jose) said that was the clearest he has seen the view from there. Went out to the Wharf and Lombard St.

Re: San Francisco
I went to the San Francisco area back in the early 1980's with a group of men from the Mississippi Baptist Brotherhood. Floods and land slides had hit that area doing quite a bit of damage. We repaired houses, churches, and did a bit of clean up and dirt work. The group I was placed with was sent to a Baptist camp up at Cazadero and worked on one of their buildings. We were right in the middle of the redwoods.
One of things I remember is the food. Think of any type of restaurant and they've got one. We had some Phillipine immigrants come over and cook us a dish they called lumpia. I still don't know what it was but it was dellicious. The associational missionary treated us to a dinner at a Greek restaurant on the way back into the city. It was the first time I had ever had a seven course meal.
I had heard all the stories about the homo's and California being the land of the fruits and nuts. Honestly I met some of the finest people I have ever met. It seems that half of the people I met had moved there from Mississippi. Those who are Christians will be some of the most faithful you will ever meet.

Re: San Francisco
Was there last week. Great place. Good food. Nice people just a lot of minorities i.e. Asain and gays. But for the most part they don't bother anyone. Know how to parralel park. Don't go to Oakland. I spend most of my time in Santa Rosa which is north of there.

First of all, does your sister have anyone to date? Take a drive down highway one to Carmel. Nice trip.

We drove from Portland all the way down Highway 1 to San Diego. Beautiful country, but lots of fags. Sonoma and Napa Valley is some of the best country I have ever seen. I will be making a trip back when my taste buds change.

Re: San Francisco
I love San Francisco. WOULD NEVER LIVE THERE but I think the city is beautiful. I love northern California. It has dramatic landscape. I would suggest you go down Hwy 1 to Carmel and Monterrey. The ride is spectacular. The redwoods are incredible to see in person.

. If you really want to see some beautiful country travel up 101 to humbolt county to a town called Arcata. I lived there for a while. You can venture off into the Giant Sequoias and Redwoods, they are a sight to see for sure.
