Dave Ramsey
Re: Dave Ramsey
I jsut have a hard time understanding why anyone would bash dave ramsey. You may not like him and may not follow his teachings (which are actually common sense and biblical) but everything he says his positive and good solid teaching, and he is just trying to help people that want help.

Maybe because, other than debt, most of his other advise is questionable at best and sometimes flat out wrong.
And actually, he is trying to make money. He is all about making money for Dave. Lots of it.
And much of what he says is degrading and very much NOT positive. He is pretty good about talking down to folks.... Guess you can do that when you write a book about a subject you know very little about, and then promote it like crazy.
Call him up, and ask about being one of his ELP's. Only cost $3,000 per year to be 'endorsed' by good ole Dave.
Most of the materials he has, he got from Larry Burkett and Christian Financial Concepts before Larry died and CFC folded into Crown Financial Ministries.... The envelope system,... it came from CFC.
And someone PLEASE tell him to stop preaching that mutual funds will consistently make 10% per year.... he always forgets to talk about the taxes you have to pay on that gain

He is all about making money for Dave.
and also to add on. He told the tenants of his building that they could not put their names on his sign. He got a new sign and it is DAVE RAMSEY SHOW and DAVE RAMSEY BOOKSTORE and etc......How many office buildings have you ever seen that did not list the tenants. Needless to say, they are moving out. He is a total ego maniac!

and Dave admits to where he got alot of his saying and envelope system from. Of course he is out to make money just like the rest of us and as much as possible. Dave gives alot also.
Re: Dave Ramsey
If his advice is so obvious, then why do we have millions of Americans in serious debt? If his stuff is no passe, then why are so many people filing for bankruptcy right? If they hadn't purchased more home than than they could afford, we wouldn't be going through as serious a crisis as we are now.

Re: Dave Ramsey
Knowing the obvious and adhering to the obvious are two different things.
Re: Dave Ramsey
I do not think America has a mortgage crisis I think they have a live on way more than you make crisis. If American did not have the millions in car debt, and millions in credit card debt they could make there ARM (adjustable rate mort) payments.
People think if they can make the payments they can afford it.
If you cant pay cash for it, or have it paid of in full in seven years you cant afford it.

Thats true.
What they need is a kick in the pants to tell them to get some sense.

Nope.. I took his class at our church and then taught his class a couple of times at our church also..
Is Dave making money off his system?.. Yep.. Does it help people? Yep.. Do I make any money off the deal? Nope.. I am just trying to pass on the things that I have learned to help others. This is part of our Church's ministry and something that I have signed up to help with other with..

Out of curiosity, and I assume you are referring to a home, why 7 years?
