Exactly!!! You can not brush a broad stroke and say that this is the financial plan for America. If you are successful in building wealth it would stink for your children to have to give half of it to the government to pay your estate taxes.

I think I now know what the "ins." part of your name means! :P Do you sell whole life?

I've got two good friends that sell insurance and they dislike Dave as well, but if you do what he says, which by the way IS COMMON SENSE, you can prosper. I am trying anyway

I sell whole life and term ins, and I think Dave gives good advise to people that have dug a huge hole of debt. They need a plan to get out of it, and he has a plan. Makes sense to me, but not everyone is in debt. Should a person in debt be driving an expensive car? Living in an expensive home? Well, I don't think they should own permanent life ins either, and I would never recommend it to someone in that position. Should a person that has substantial assets to pay a whole life premium have term ins? I don't think so. I have seen people become extremely weathy on permanent insurance policies. They would have lost money in other places, like Dave's mutual funds that he assumes a 10% return on. Wow, I mean wow Dave is lucky that the NASD and the SEC don't own all of his assets now. Everyone has their opinion on this, there's mine.

I challenge anyone that has truly followed Daves "common sense" teaching all the way through that they are better off. I seriously doubt there is a single person that has done it that it has failed or they are worse off.

The reason your insurance friends dislike him is because he is taking money out of there pocket. Dave;s reason behind term insurance is simple its cheaper and you can save more and by the time you really need insurance you are self insured. (no longer needing insurance).

Some of us are willing to sacrifice today so tomorrow we can live.

We have to live with jones's drive the top notch vehicle upgrade every so many years.

Average american spends around 350 a month on a car not for over 30 years of there life. Put 350 a month back in a decent good growth mutual fund and see what you retire with over 2 million. I hope you have enjoyed your car and keeping up with Jones'. I am a banker I sell money you would think I would not like dave but what dave says is true and biblical. If you do not like him dont listen to him or do it. But certainly dont bash him, I wuld love to hear from just one person that did his program and is not better off. You will not find one!!!

I have read one of his books. My 12th grade math teacher made us. He has a lot of good advice. But coming from a fiscally smart family, it all seemed like common sense. I admire how he has helped a lot of people out with being more fiscally responsible.

I would also think that anyone who has basic knowledge of the fair tax WOULD support it.

I came from a fiscally smart family as well (Dad was a very good businessman) But apparently I didn't get those genes. Even with an MBA you would have thought I would have known better than to get into debt.. But I was also an only child (so you know how spoiled we are).. For those who have only heard him on the radio.. Your missing out all the things that he says in the FPU class. BTW I still do free finanical couseling based on his principles.. So if any of you MSDUCKERS need some advice holler at me.. It is free.

I live in the land of Dave. I hate him, but for some reason, I listen to him everyday. Like most people here say, it is total common since. I ran up some debt out of college. If I would have done what Dave did (file bankruptcy), I would be so much better off now. I spent a few years trying to get out of debt. If I would not have paid that money back, I would have a lot more now. In my mind, dave uses religion to influence his sales. I hear so many people say "You are a blessing". WHAT? He told you to live within your means. Why is he a blessing? Read the Bible. There are multiple scriptures that say the same thing! I am debt free but it is not because of Dave.
