Mud Nationals
Has anyone ever been to it? It is held just south of tyler tx. They say there is thousands of atvs that come. Just wondering if anyone had been there before?

Re: Mud Nationals
here is a link to their website. I have never been but had several buddies go and loved it. I plan on buying me a bike this summer and getting it all fixed up and hopefully going next year.

Marengo is the name of it. My cousin went last year and really enjoyed it. I'm gonna try to go with them this year. June 7th is the date.
Re: Mud Nationals
I've been to Marengo.
This was one year:

and this was another year:

The blue truck was 3 years ago and the red truck was 2 years ago. I will say it's a blast, but it's very long. You get to the point where your just riding fairly hard just to get out the trail. Toward the end you start seeing bikes broke down along the trail. There's a couple bad spots that I don't care for. Depending on how much rain there is prior to the ride, there's a big drain ditch you have to cross. I don't like putting my bike in deep water, but you have to cross it to continue the trail. There's also a good size hill that normally bottlenecks people. Get there as early as possible so you can beat the line of people to get in and yes, there's a long line. One ride I remember calling the weekend after and it was 3500+ bikes that attended. There are wildlife and fisheries at the beginning with counters counting the bikes entering. There are people that don't make it out and get stuck in the woods, but there is help on it's way to find them. I advise to stay on the trails in the event something does happen. 3 years ago my friends dad and mom were on a polaris 700. He was cutting a donut and caught a root, both flew off. She cracked a rib and had to get taken out. The ride is along a river and they sent a boat down the river to pick her up and bring her to an awaiting ambulance. I remember my buddy and I treading water so the boat would know where they were.
All in all, it's a very fun ride and worth going. I have not attended Mud Nationals yet, but plan to do so. I here it's very nice to watch. There's people and companies that build bikes JUST for Marengo and Mud Nationals so you see some pretty wild bikes. I always tell people, you put 3500+ rednecks in a group of woods, your bound to see some great scenery.
There's a campground not but 1/4 mile from the road to get to the ride. It fills up quick, so call now if you'd want to stay there. We stay at a campground in Monroe and drive to the trail when we go. Also bring you some barrels of water and use them to clean yourselves after the ride. you WILL get muddy form head to toe if you have enough fun.
Ask questions and I'll be glad to answer what I can about Marengo and sorry for the long reply.

The one in Texas is in Jacksonville. It's about 30 miles south of Tyler. I've been spending a lot of time over there the past month for work. The locals talk about it a good bit. Guess it's a big thing for the small town. Say that they have a pretty nice course/track. It's about 2 hours southwest of Shreveport, La.
