6 Good Things about MSU v. UF Game

BS,

Now don't go showing your lack of reading comprehension skills. Please, read my comment regarding Kevin Fant and Eli again. Here it is so you can just read it here....

" Fant is more of a pure QB like Eli is at Miss"

What part of that is a 'comparison'? I never quoted stats. The only possible 'comparison' I made was that BOTH are pure QB's in the sense of field leadership, arm strength, etc. Sherrill likes to make a lot of Madkin being "an athlete playing QB." Well, I happen to think that Kevin & Eli are QB's playing QB. That was my only point.

Finally, why do I need to see Stats for Eli? I know he's good - I admit it. On the other hand, do you think his stats would be good if he never started a game? Well, Kevin has never started a game at State. The only real playing time he had was against Miss last year and that was his first real "test".

There is simply no way to compare Eli & Kevin at this point. Kevin is way behind Eli in game time, attempts, completions and games started.

No offense, but you need to get that Manning chip off your shoulder and chill out.

Boys . . .

As an Ole Miss fan, I have to admit deriving pleasure from Jackie Wayne Sherrill being so hardheaded and insisting on playing Madkin. Who lnows, Fant probably is better . . . than Madkin. The guy from Vicksburg was better than Madkin. Remember what Lee Corso said in the Memphis game "State will never win a championship with Madkin at QB"! MAybe he should have said State will never win another SEC game with Madkin as QB. The best thing for state's future opponents to hope for is that Sherril never admits he is wrong about Madkin. As for states D, it will be back as long as JOE Lee is there.

Corso said that MSU has everything to win a national championship, just lacking the ability to recruit a big time QB. Madkin isn't a great QB, but he's a winner. Fant is not ready and it is not given that he will be the starter for next season because of the other 2 QB's we have. Madkin has more job security than anyone else because Fant is no where ready.

GH22, you must be watching MSU games through that piece of crap Aetec of yours. Madkin SUX. Every now and then he shows signs of being a good quarterback, but he is horribly inconsistent. There is no way that Fant or any other quarterback on the team could be any worse.

By the way, is your real name Jackie Sherrill? He is the only one I know that would still defend Madkin?

Last thing we need at State is another QB controversy virus. We started this crap back in the mid-90's and haven't stopped. Last thing we need is people fighting for Fant to play. The best QB on the team is starting, enough said. I hate to say it but MSU fans bitch more about winning and losing than Ole Miss, and it is stupid. I can tell you what's wrong this year, the expectations were way too high. We finally got some hype and bought into it, especially myself. I wished he had been picked next to last in the SEC. The offensive coordinator is the problem, not the players on the field.

State got beat down. Plain and simple. They started slow and got shook and couldn't recover. The DB's had a baptism by fire. It does happen to good teams, remember Florida Nebraska a few years back. Its not all on Madkin. He can't throw and catch as well. How many times has Justin Jenkins dropped that crossing route across the middle on the opening series now? How many tackles did Josh Morgan miss? Point is, State may have played the 2 best teams they will see all year. Probably 2 Top 10 caliber teams. All the other west teams have at least one SEC loss, with the possible exception of Auburn, but they will not beat Florida. State wins out, they win the west and met Florida in Atlanta. But, they have to learn to tackle first. This weekend will tell you if they are going to fight or fold. You can base the rest of the seson on it is my guess. And, Eli is the real deal. IF they had a defense, it would be big trouble for the rest of the sec, but they can't stop the run and teams will grind it out against them.

I doubt that State will win out. They still have some tuff games left. LSU is pretty tuff and you better not count out BAMA because we are playing some pretty good ball right now we just need to work on the secondary. We got a pretty good quarterback too. Watts was 20-25 with 393 total yards in Offense, had 162 rushing 2td's, 231 passing with 1 td. Oh yea they lead the SEC in rushing. better keep an eye on us.
ps: our 2 losses have been by a total of 4 points. against a top15 team and a top10! team!

Hey, I know that will be a tough game in T-town. But how did they blow that game to SC? That was hard to watch.

Msu Duck Dawg, I don't have a "Manning Chip" on my shoulder. I just tell the facts, show the stats and speak the truth!! Manning is awesome and I am damn proud that he plays for Ole Miss!! If you have a problem with the facts, I am sorry. There is nothing I can do about that!! GH22, thank you for admitting you bought into that bull$hit pre-season hype and bit the dust hard!!
