handicapped waterfowler
My father has said he wanted to give waterfowl hunting a shot next year. He is paralyzed from the waist down and comfined to a wheelchair. He does deer hunt and turkey hunt with no problem but that is a different environment. I realize that it would almost be impossible for him to hunt out of a pit, flooded timber, or a floating blind. I do have some catfish ponds that would be easy to get him in and out of though. My only problem there is no cover and he cant use a layout blind. If anyone has seen some kind of blind that was made for someone in his situation, i would love some info. I really love for him to join us in the chase.

You could try something similar to this. I know there are other models out there made more for waterfowl hunting but I think this would do. Low profile that you could brush up fairly easily.

haybales
Next year before the season put some hay bales around those cat fish ponds, you can set him between two haybales and let him blas away!

Some of our best hunts have been on a levy between rice fields. We used four old wire/spring bed springs like in a dorm. Two on each side and then brushed up around it and set on 5 gallon buckets.
I really like the idea of the sheet of plywood on the ground and you should be ready to go.
If he has the desire, find a way to make it happen!
