Riding Mower Question....
Riding Mower Question....
Been looking all over, narrowed it down to two. Sears has a Craftsman w/ 17HP Kohler motor for $1300. Home Depot has a John Deere w/ same Kohler motor and a few extra trimmings for $1700. Anybody had any experience with the Craftsman? I know the John Deere is a good mower but is it worth the diff. in price?

Go with the John Deere
There is more to a mower than the engine. I have been brutal to a John Deere for 8 yrs and the only problem with it now are the tires are flat, and the battery won't put out enough juice after its been sitting up all winter.

Harley, dont you know its Turkey season!!! How can you even think of mowing the lawn at times like these!!!???
But ... Now that were on the subject... Why not just get a 19 inch push mower & let the Ole Lady cut the grass!!!
$99 special @ Wal Mart!!! Some assembly required! By the time she gets it put together Turkey season will be 75% over with!
Gotta start using your head! I'll tell ya something else... Wait a minute... I think my dear sweet wife just walked in!!!
YEP..... Gotta go!!!

RIDING MOWERS
Both are good mowers for the money. The Craftsman mowers have one drawback, however, the blades are crap and you can't. buy them just anywhere. If you ever have to have these mowers worked on you can't take them back to the store, you have to find an authorized service center. With the Deere mowers any dealer will work on them no matter where you bought the mower (Our dealer told me that they have to work on the mowers that Home Depot sells. This is a directive straight from Deere.) The Deere mowers are built a little heavier than the Craftsman, but the average joe probaly can't. tell the difference (the decks , blades, etc.) We have both and they are both very good mowers.
