I think the marsh youll talking about is being leased by a bunch of hog hunters trying to get duck hunters to pay for their hobbies, it is advertised or at least it was on Rodnreel.com. was about 800 bucks per membership if I remember correctly. Can tell you from experience, you better be in sum kind of shape to hunt that stuff cause it aint easy. I think some of the place borders Mulatto Bayou. I grew up hunting all that marsh and had great times down on the Pearl, but I done long outgrown walking the marsh. plenty of bottemless mud out there... all the OOS should have to hunt a yr stint out in that marsh before they could be elgible for a mgt area hunt. guaranteed it would cull 80% of the wantabees!!!
that style marsh hunting is handsdown the hardest waterfowl hunting there is. freelancing land locked marsh holes will make a man out of you or at least make you puke everyhunt.

Bay I think that would definitely be a good way to cull the TWR's but what about the Venice mud? I've hunted both and would have to say it is twice as bad as the pearl's mud.

used to hunt up the river some so I dont no Venice to good, but I spent many a years running the marsh over by Woody bayou, and that mud made a many of grown men cry. made me swim out of my hip boots many a day. makes a hunt in the delta feel like a cake walk. damm those are good memories

Sorry, I'm a little late.... Raised in Gulfport, lived in Biloxi until Katrina wanted my house more than I did and now living in Saucier (about 15 miles north of any water) except my pond. Hunted all of the Lower Marsh down here since I was 8 (for 30 some odd years ).

True that come to think about it I have ran into way more wanna be's in the delta than in the marsh. The marsh has some different kind of hunters compared to some of the WMA's that I have been to in the delta. I have to admit though, some of the mallard hunts that I have been on in the delta were unforgettable.

Yeah, they were on the east side of the river north of the train bridge, and no there wasn't much going on out there opening morning. We only got 5 with three people.

the marsh definitely seperates the men from the topwaters, once about 3 years ago me and a buddy were walking into a cut that cant be accesed by our boat and i have to go first since im the lightest well i start to sink, so i start running and start to tell him not to step there, and before i could turn around he was up to his nipples in mud and the only way we could get out was sink and dig the other person out and move them about 2 feet did this for about 20 yrds. and 3 hrs.
