By the way where are ya'll taking almost 1 mile + shots I did not think there were any fields that big over around kings point. Least there weren't when i hunted at Browns Point. How can you see a deer at 1500-2000 yards being 1750 is 1 mile. You must have some bad booty equip and tall stands.

The thing is, My custom GAP 300 WSM mounted with a NF Tact. scope is What I want. Same goes for my custom GAP 7mm Short Mag. mounted with the same scope. This is what I want. I have dropped both guns and the best part about it is, with badger rings and bases, nothing happens other than get a little dirty. As far as shooting deer or any other game, you are right, we will both kill them, Even with your little $300 scope as you said. This difference is I can kill them a hell of a lot farther out. Also, I like to shoot. It is fun to me. And we are trying to reach out eventually to 1500 or even 2000 yds. And the reason for this......purely for s*#ts and giggles. We could have this same conversation about my Mathews Drenalin bow, my Titelist golf clubs, trucks, cars, hell even watches if we want to. But bottom line with me is; I have these items A)because I want them, and B) because I can. Not being rude, but if they get broke, well hell, I guess i will have to repair it or replace it.

we get it, you have money.....go eat a golden cookie....

Money is not the point. Just trying to explain why I have what I have. BigDawg indicated we, or better yet me, are crazy for spending money on scopes of our choice, I could give 2 craps about what someone else has.

Never said we were shooting Deer or game @ this distance. We shoot Paper targets off Bench Rest. We have a couple of places, neither of which are on the island, one is on a friends property near the big black.

If you ever want some cool information about shooting, check out Snipershide.com You will probably want to question some of these guys posts, like you have mine.
