Off to the great white North
Well I finally made it back, them airlines made me hunt and fish three extra days due to the sad circumstances. Looks like I missed some excitement here as well.
Anyway the duck hunting was good but the fishing was excellant.
First day we were catching Walleye averaging 28" and it stayed like that the whole trip, had a hard time brining our limit home because they were all too big!!
Northern were averaging around 30" but we caught one at 42" and another at 40" and it was just non stop.We were one fish short brining Northern home because we couldn't catch any small ones!
We killed some ducks but the early wild rice was flooded out so the duck hunting was average but still pretty good.
The highlight was when two Giant Canadian geese came in and two shots later nothing flew out. The 15 year old along will always be able to remember where he killed his first Canadian goose.
If I figure out how to post pictures I'll put some up.

Sounds like you had a big 'ol time in the land of your up bringin'. You didn't start talking like a DAMN YANKEE again, did you?
I thought we had you all straightened out!!!
Those walleye are some of the best eatin' fish around. I don't think I want to try anything called a "Northern", probably bitter and too tough!!
How far north did you venture?

We were about an hour north of Kenora, eh.
We fished in Seperation Lake in the NWest corner of Ontario.
Don't worry y'all still have me talking funny. The people at the lodge had big time about the way we were talking.
By the way taking firearms through O'Hare right now is a real nice experiance. We were met by a gorgeous(seriously) US Marshall who stayed with me until the weapons were checked through. I really don't think it was the guns that kept her so close to me though.
