SX3

Postby fowlmood2 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 8:15 am

I've had one for a few years now and know other folks that shoot them. They are excellent guns. I have only had one problem with mine that I'm pretty sure was related to the cheap Kent Shells I was shooting at the time. I have not shot Kent since and haven't had any issues. All I shoot is heavy loads for waterfowl so I do not have any experience with light loads. The only downside to the gun is it's weight. It is a heavy gun but that's typically not an issue for me with the kind of hunting I do. I looked at several different guns, talked to a lot of folks, and ended up with the SX3. The great thing about waterfowl guns nowdays is that there are so many good ones to choose from.

...X-3 feed back... Went shot a few rounds at the local range. Gun is a very smooth shooter, very low recoil. Fits me great. It was the first time I could focus on the clay only, I didn't have to think about where the gun was (rib, stock bla bla bla). I'm not a real good shot normally, but the gun said different. No hang ups, and I tried to force it a couple times on a real quick double. We were shooting 1-1/8 oz. #8 , next time I'll try 1-oz. to see if it can spit out the cheap0's. I never realized how important fit was till then. I may take all my guns to a smith and have them fitted. The x-3 just came out the box a fit for me...

I shot a few 1 oz yesterday and still couldn't hang it up. I've been trying to hang it and just can't.

Browning is coming out with a new and improved gold. I think its lighter and slimmer.

I wish they'd make a 3.5 gold with the semi humpback design.
