Just leased a little marsh that butts up to the Big Branch Marsh near Slidell, La. It's mostly salt grass with nice sized ponds with allot of fingers and points. I'd love to sink a pit, but the birds have allot of other places to land once they get a little pressure, so I was thinking of something mobile. Any ideas on a floating blind that is fairly low profile?

If the water is not too deep, you can carry a canoe in behind your boat and sink it wherever you want to hunt. You can cut some blind material from the marsh to brush the canoe with. You will sit on your knees in the canoe. It is not very comfortable but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Iceman I use a trick similar to what B Long said. I have a kayyak style pirogue and a piece of trawler net that is weaved with natual vegetation. Once I arrive I spool the net out over the boat add a few touch ups and then use the boat as a layout boat.
I shoot from it in the semi lay down mode with a small seat that I made. I can also use it to move wherever, and to pick up birds. Mine will hold me, the net, a dog, 2 doz. decoys, a day bag, seat and thats about it. It will free float in 4 inchs of water.

I use a regular boat to get to whatever general location, then move the boat and cover it, and use a marsh seat, and just sit out in the marsh grass. If the water is a little too deep to just wander around due to channels, I will hunt a boat blind, but prefer to just hide myself.

Iceman here is a simple, cheap way to do it. Go to home depot and look in the blinds section(not hunting blind, but wall blinds). They have bamboo lookin' stuff that comes by the roll that you can use as a wall blind. Well take that and unroll it, and it is like six feet high and eight or ten feet long. Take some grey PVC pipe and then use plastic slip ties to hold the bamboo to the PVC. Then roll it back up and unroll when you get to you spot you want to hunt. Then Viola you got an instant portable blind to go around your boat for about $40 bucks at the most. You may want to add some camo netting or something to it to help cover the top of the boat, but the bamboo is pretty damn close to the color of marsh grass after the first freeze so it works like a chamrm.
