I went to a WMA hunt this morning..there were no birds, but I saw one of the worst things I have ever seen hunting. A bird landed in the middle of the field and a guy shot at the bird and hit another hunter...The guy who got shot had pellets stuck in his nose and cheek bone along with his right arm...the guy who shot him was escorted off the field by the Game wardens and had a long discussion with him about his hunting future...

Don't come to Kentucky to hunt them grey bastards,I think crop rotation is in order here-our game and fish dept has planted the same things for the last 10 years and the crops are getting worse! does rotation play a part in unsuccesful crops? I don't really know for sure. hunted 4.5 hours and saw 15 doves!

Because of all the rain i heard the doves weren't flying that great. I hope it improves though. Get drunk and hunt. That's the life.

Myself and three others sat in a drizzle and killed 35. These were the highest flying doves I have hunted.

These were all small doves. It was like shooting a half dollar with wings according to one of the other guys.

My field was planted too late and nothing has seeded out yet, no birds. Other prospects didn't look good either so figured I may have to go antiquing with the wife Thank god for friends, my phone rang late Friday and I lucked up on a hunt. As it turned out it was one of the best I've been on in a long time, everybody limited out on doves then beer. Nobody seemed to mind a little rain.

Passed up on a pay hunt in Claiborne county because of the possibility of a rainout with no refund. Went to hunt with some old friends in Jeff Davis county. The field has been used many seasons with great success. This year the fellowship with friends was great but the doves didn't cooperate. I truly hope some others had better luck than we did.

We had an excellent hunt in Prentiss county. My dad and I were just 3 shy of the limit.(because of poor-shooting of course!) I think the whole field harvested about 150 or so. It looked like it was gonna be raw and rainy on the trip up there, but it only sprinkled a little bit. It was a real fun morning.

Had a great hunt in Newton Co. Saturday. Andy and even dad got their limit. Everyone was thru by 9:30. Didn't go today but will give it another try Monday. Mostly young birds over cut signal grass (bracaria). Only light rain Saturday, but overcast made um hard to see. Good excuse for poor shootin. Good luck to all. Finally got into them this morning. It has been raining like cats and dogs till this A.M., fields are sopping wet. They flew hard early, I got a limit pretty quick and just drank coffee and offered "color commentary." Glad some doves finally surfaced in my little corner of the world.

Had a pretty good field yesterday afternoon, though it was not the field we intended to hunt. The rain kept a few hunters from getting to the actual hunt on time. When they were pulling into my place they looked across the road at another of my fields and saw alot of birds. It was a crabgrass field that i cut for hay about a week and half ago. So they stop and go to shooting, though most were like me couldn't hit, but one did get a limit. So we had a pretty good south Mississippi hunt, and learned something in the process. You don't always have to prepare a field to have a good hunt. Andy

Killed four on Saturday afternoon before being run out the field by a wall of water. When the rain first hit my little Brittany, it hit so hard and fast he tucked his tail and scooted away like I'd swatted him with a broom.

Stopped at 15 on Monday afternoon at around 5:00 pm.

It sure was fun getting the dogs out hunting again.
