Where to find?

Postby Double Wing » Mon Dec 19, 2005 11:45 am

Pro Plan in the Oxford area. Been feeding Arcat but my wife is complaining that the dog smells like fish. My dog spends half time inside at her feet she wants me to change to something else. Used to use Purina one but inerested in ProPlan.

Good luck with that. Pro Plan seems to be the hardest food to try to feed simply because of finding a supplier. Moores Feed mill in Pontatoc use to carry it but dropped it. You can get it in Tupelo at Petsmart......but I have driven an hour over there to get it to find out there were sold out. You can get Eukenuba from Animal Care Center in Oxford. Might want to try it.

Purina One and ProPlan are about the same until you get to the Pro Plan Performance.

You can find Purina One at a Walmart or Sam's near you. Very easy to get. I was feeding Purina One and getting a 44lb bag at Sam's for $25-$28 bucks which is very cheap for a high grade food.

I was very pleased with Purina One; I just went to PPP for the extra juice it provided..........

yep, tupelo is the closest dealer for pro plan, but you gots your choice between Tractor Supply Company or Petsmart.... one costs just about the same as the other.

I look for the amount of waste and the condition of the coat.

Also, one thing to watch out for with some premium foods are the dates on the bags. Because these foods are not fed by most people, the places that carry it don't sell a lot of it and it sits on palate for while. I have bought a couple of bags of PP that had mold in the bottom of the bag and I had to trash 3 or 4 pounds of the food. Probably should have trashed the whole bag but I did not find it either time until I was almost done feeding it.
