MS Hunting

Postby noles97 » Thu Dec 01, 2005 10:21 am

Carolina,

I would say bring it on! Buzzard is the place to hunt for sure. Of course, I doubt very seriously if you will make it out of there with your skin, but give it a shot. I have some friends that hunt Buzzard, and I have met many of the folks that hunt out there as well. I can tell you with the utmost certainty that Buzzard is one of the last places on Earth that I would try to hunt iwthout permission. Let's just say that they are not going to call the law on you! If you got the nutz to do it, I will even give you directions on how to get there but, I am also going to give those boys directions on how to find you while you are out there. Then I am going to bets on how the confrontation unfolds. The odds are going to start at about 50:1 with you being the underdog. I am always up for going to see a good booty whipping. I might even make some money on it!

Good luck son!

Try York Woods, its not to crowded. Lots of water there right know. Dont even need a boat.

Buzzard is public?

Postby noles97 » Fri Dec 02, 2005 9:51 am

The statement made by you that Buzzard is public is only true depending upon how you look at it. Can you get in there with a boat and be legal is not the question. The real question is: Can you leave there with the boat (or at all) when you are done hunting? You see, the land all around there is private, and the lake bottom in many areas is private too. There is really only 2 good places to put a boat in and get to the place so they are gonna know right where to look for your booty if they don't catch you on the water, which you better PRAY is the case. The people that own the land around Buzzard are very influential in the area and have no worries about the law (if there is any in the Free State). I know that you are kidding around with this whole thing and that is fine but someone that doesn't know better may read this and end up in a world of hurt.

Honestly, I would hunt York Woods or Fighting Bayou illegally before I would go out to Buzzard because they (York Woods & Fighting Bayou) will just call the law and have you arrested. I don't think that would be your fate on Buzzard. I have seen the lock up in Charleston (have not been in it though thank god). It does not look like a great place to be, but I would take it all day long over a permanent residence at the bottom of Buzzard! How much is a duck worth to you? Tallahatchie Co. can be a cruel place if you don't watch out!

carolinaduckexpert have you ever hunted this area. If so where do you normally hunt the reason I'm asking I have never hunted public land and I might trade out some hunts with you. I own about 600 acres with 200 of it being flooded hardwood and 400 farm in rice with (4) 20' pit blinds. I'm just tired of hunting the same places year after year.
