18 to buy spray paint?

I went to tractor supply today to get some stakes to do a dog training drill. I wanted to paint a few orange so the dog can't see them as well / at all, so I grabbed a rattle can of some Kubota orange. Then I get carded at the cash register as if I am buying prescription drugs. And yea, I look like the type to go "tag" a train car in my spare time too.

When did they start age restricting when you can buy paint?

I don’t think they’re worried about graffiti as much as they are worried about you sniffing the contents to destroy brain cells for fun.

I think it’s more a large company thing rather than a law? Bit I have no idea.

There is a lot of discussion as to exactly what they see. Some dogs pick the color out quite well. But that can be repetitive training and learning to pick the contrasting color. A bright orange bumper against a green grass may stand out well to them. The spectrum below doesn't include brown or tans like dead grass. So I am not sure how those contrast against each other. But they see the color, it just isn't as bright to them as us.
