For large geese, I would go with a 1 oz load of #6s at around 1300 fps. It will give you killing energy to 83 yds, with 139 pellets.
And here we are at 83?

I know some ole boys that would test the limits!
If I don't do it, I ain't gettin nun.......So i'm doing it

I'm just stating the energy numbers. Yes, those pellets at 1300 fps will kill at 83 yds. Your max distance would depend on how far your pattern would hold up, those are two totally different elements. I am not claiming to kill at 83 yds.

Not knocking your post 7Ducks, but I don't think that the shells you talk about are the same thing as TSS. There is a pretty big difference. The tungsten shot in Wingmaster HD is different TSS (tungsten super shot). Remington claims their shot is different with this statement "Utilizing Remington’s proprietary composite of tungsten-bronze-iron metal". And a little googling tells me "Remington Wingmaster HD shot that is 12g/cc, TSS is Tungsten Super Shot that is 18g/cc". So the TSS is WAY heavier.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

Good data, teul. And accurate. I don't care about shooting geese at 80 yds. I'd just like for them to die at 40 yds.
Never assume.

Never said it was heavier, I qualified what I observed based on the shells that I had shot.
