I think it's more to do with Football (1),Basketball (2), Baseball (4) = clean sweep in the big three in one season.
Hard to argue that the MSU billboard is currently guilty of False Advertising.

When you hang billboards that say "This is OUR STATE" and get off of silly nicknames, the get your ass handed to you for a calendar year following that, it's just the gentleman's thing to do to make reminder of said stupidity.

See, "Welcome to Our State" is referencing the "State" in Mississippi State, as in Mississippi State University...some of you are far more educated than I, so I can't really understand how:
1. You can't recognize the play on words.
2. It gets under your skin so bad.
3. You're still talking about it, even though it was 4 or 5 years ago.

Everyone (well, maybe everyone) recognizes the play on words...if you don't recognize it as a not so subtle shot across the brow you are being naive.

Personally, it really doesn't get under my skin, I get it and sort of appreciate it in a way...BUT I also recognize the irony of the increased not so subtle influence on the in state rival in State's marketing over the past 4+ years, followed by such a one sided year of results being poetic. I'm not "still talking about it" but given the steady jabs (many warranted) over recent past, expect the rebuttle...that's my only feeling about it.

I know you guys have to be kidding me. From Dan Mullen mentioning TSUN and it being "Our State" at every speech opportunity even after having his butt handed to him, to practice jerseys worn by the baseball team with F-TSUN in it, to a new basketball coach mentioning TSUN on the road dawg tour. I bet in his first meeting with Strickland he was like,you want me to call them what?

Wait a minute, your right, I hear Freeze, Bianco, and Kennedy talking about MSU all the time.


I have always been smack dab in the middle of this rivalry having attended MSU and loved my time there and being a rebel fan from birth. I can promise you this: Ole Miss fans hate losing to MSU in anything, but sometimes I think MSU fans celebrates harder when Ole Miss loses than when their own team wins.

I agree there is a lunatic fringe on each side, but there are a few more on the State side.
