How Miss State helped Ole Miss...
pretty sure, baring a collapse against Memphis...that MSU beat down of LSU just put College Gameday on campus in Oxford in two weeks...huge publicity for Ole Miss...thx State

Re: How Miss State helped Ole Miss...
With Alabama and Ole Miss both more than likely to carry a 4-0 record into that game, I doubt the outcome of the State/LSU game had much effect on the decision to put gameday in Oxford. I'm really expecting some top notch signage from the party school of the south. Don't disappoint.

Times just released for the Oct. 4th games. Shows OM/Bama at 2:30 on CBS and MSU/A&M at 11:00 on ESPN.

I think what he's saying is the other possibility for gameday was LSU @ AU. Since LSU wont be undefeated now, the most likely choice is UA @ UM. Both of which should be undefeated then.JaMak84 wrote:With Alabama and Ole Miss both more than likely to carry a 4-0 record into that game, I doubt the outcome of the State/LSU game had much effect on the decision to put gameday in Oxford. I understood that, but I still fill that Ole Miss would've got the nod. ESPN would have been hard pressed to pass up a 1st time location appearence with 2 top 10 ranked undefeated programs, and yet another oportunity to put St. Nick on television verses a 9th or 10th trip to the plains.eSJay wrote:I think what he's saying is the other possibility for gameday was LSU @ AU. Re: How Miss State helped Ole Miss...
I don't see Gameday going to Oxford for two reasons. One, it's a 2:30PM CBS kickoff. Gameday is usually the primetime ESPN game location. Secondly, they're going to South Carolina this weekend. They'd catch a lot of flack for going to the SEC back to back weekends. Either way ....... RTR !!!
But yes, if State had not beaten LSU, College Gameday would've covered LSU vs AU. Ranking wise, it would've been the best match-up.

Word I hear are hotel rooms are being booked as Jeff says otherwise....
Re: How Miss State helped Ole Miss...
Talk about counting chickens!!!....what if somebody said Memphis was gonna put a beat-down on Ole Miss???....well, they ARE next-door neighbors and pretty big rivals and upsets CAN happen, even on your home field....right, Mr. Miles???
Since Ole Miss is ranked #10, even though they've played absolutely nobody, let's look past the chicken-counting:
> Memphis has scored 134 points in 3 games
> lost by only 7 points to #11 UCLA
> put up nearly 500 total yards vs ucla
> had point lead twice and tied it up late in game....so, they aren't quitters
> defense is pretty darn good, too....held ucla to just 144 net rushing yards
> they don't call Jakes, "Tank" for no reason....and, Leo Pegues will clean your plow
> kicking game - great punter - good FG kicker
> Lynch is a big tough Texas-born kid - 6' 7" - 230 lbs.
> Lynch is a smart QB, but will shove it down your throat, when necessary
JMHO....carry on, with counting your chickens.

Rooms would be cancelled but even then I'm not that delusional to think that Memphis would pull that off.dukluk wrote:What if somebody said Memphis was gonna put a beat-down on Ole Miss???![]()

Dukluk, between these two post I swear it seems like you are comparing MSU beating LSU to Memphis possibly beat Ole Miss...considering rankings, conference and general hiearchy of college football...you are basically saying MSU is like Memphis and Ole Miss like LSU...and hoping Memphis beats Ole Miss to make it feel better....given all that, you don't think very highly of your school and very highly of your rival...I THINK? Or I'm not really sure any of all that makes a lot of sense....dukluk wrote:Greenhead22 wrote:Rooms would be cancelled but even then I'm not that delusional to think that Memphis would pull that off.![]()

for the record, quite a few analyst picked MSU over LSU, upset, but not like Memphis beating Ole Miss this weekend would be a practically unpredictable upset...it's silly to parallel the two
Re: How Miss State helped Ole Miss...
The whole point of the post was trolling. He was trying to get a reaction from the MSU fanbase. He succeeded.
