LSU vs MSU Predictions and Tailgate Invite
Thoughts on next week? LSU has a lot of young talent that is showing signs for breaking out. Jennings is starting to shape up as a good starting quarterback, but still has a ways to go.
I am concerned about LSU's defense front when it comes to SEC play.
Also, anybody coming to Baton Rouge has an open invite to our tailgate. Will have plenty of cold beer and good food and atmosphere! Will take request for food or beverages as well.
Just holler if you are coming down and I will be more than happy to help in any way.

I'll be there, ya'll in the same area still?
Looks like the game should be pretty close both teams seem pretty close to even from what little I have seen of MSU.

The game should be a bar fight; two good teams well matched.

Re: LSU vs MSU Predictions and Tailgate Invite
I think this is the year that State finally beats LSU. The last time State beat LSU was on a blown call in 1999. LSU is very weak on the defensive line and the offensive line has been a great disappointment so far this year as well. State has an incredible defensive front that will shut down LSUs running game and force them to pass. State has a good enough defensive backfield to give LSU trouble with a young QB at the helm.
I think the final score will be in the neighborhood of 34-28 Bulldogs.

Jeff,
We are in the same spot every week, Touchdown Village 2, Spot 427. Come by, hadn't got to catch up in a long time.

Hoping for some other board members to stop by. I guarantee a good time, good food, and cold beer (or water).

if state gives up points as easily as they did to UAB no way they win.
that said, it'll be close, but lsu will/should win

I'll be there along with a mixture of coworkers and friends. Mix of lsu, and state alumni. LSU's front is weak, I look for MSU to run off tackle and a nice mix of the read option with Dak. Hopefully Chavis had them ready and LSU gets the W

The only way state can win is by blow outs. We can't make PAT's or field goals therefore we are screwed in the SEC.

Re: LSU vs MSU Predictions and Tailgate Invite
I say State pulls this one out, but then again I've said the same damn thing the past 15 years.
I do like the fact that this isn't a true night game with the 6PM start. State has to come out of the gate and hit them in the mouth. My biggest worry is LSU hitting the homerun with deep balls. Our DB's are not that good in the 20-30 yd range. If LSU cannot run the ball, they'll have to go to the pass.
Streaks are meant to come to an end. Kentucky ended their streak against FLA but home cooking got the best of them.

This is probably the best chance we'll have for a while but like GH22 said, the deep ball worries me. Hopefully they'll figure out a way to pull it off. I think they can do it, just gonna take a mistake free game......obviously.
And I hate that for UK. They won the game...

IF the dogs (Big IF) close up that HUGE gap in the zone we can win this game even in the Valley. If they allow those big plays, we are done.
Dak is an open book that any decent DB can read and will throw at least 3 int's. Running game is coming along some, but still not there.
DLine will have to get a lot of pressure on LSU QB. If the southern AL receivers could catch, we would have had another 500 yards put up against
our secondary like UAB did.

Re: LSU vs MSU Predictions and Tailgate Invite
The bad thing about this game is, when you look around the SECw, we could be playing for last or second to last in the division.
Everyone looks like they could beat everyone else, with the exception of aTm and Auburn, who seem to be the class of the conference.
LSU has played no one, but has not give up a point in 9 full quarters (31 possessions). They have outscored their opponents 108-0 in that period of time.
I just have feeling about this game that is not good as an LSU fan. I could see LSU losing to State and beating UF in Gainsville in a couple weeks.

Re: LSU vs MSU Predictions and Tailgate Invite
State has struggled at times with less than stellar opponents. UAB, I think they are underrated right now and that their coach will ultimately wind up at a larger more prominent school rather quickly. They are not THAT bad of a team. However, state let them hang around way too long in that contest, whether that was due to coaching decisions to rotate players or what, still that game sticks out in my mind more so than the other two. UAB showed the rest of the SEC the key to beating up on us. Other than that we have really not played any quality competition to this point. LSU has been battle tested against Wisconsin. I think they are further along than State. I hope State can keep it close into the 4th quarter, we might have a chance. Against LSUs defense two or three breakdowns in our secondary coverage is all it's gonna take for it to get out of reach for us early.... Let's hope we have improved there for us to have a chance.
