The Rebs which were picked 6th by most publications finished first in the SEC West. Is this the year to break the drought to Omaha?

MSU, which started off slow came roaring back to finish the season. If they get their bats going, I see Omaha in their future.

Who has a better chance this year to make it to Omaha this year? Will the curse continue for the Rebs? What is missing from each team?

Once again, I find myself cautiously optimistic about this post season but I will believe Bianco can get us to Omaha when I see it. I don't see a reason we can't make it but a lot can happen.

Both teams are talented and I'm excited to see how it goes.

Im not near as excited as I was this time last year but still think State has a solid team. If we can find bats we could possibly make a run back to Omaha. A lot will have to happen around us though, also. The Rebs have a good team this year and looks like they could make a run for it but I wouldn't be a true State fan if I didn't say I wish they would stump their toe on the way through the door

Ole Miss is strong, to quite strong. If they do not make Omaha this year, the fan base should be disappointed. Bianco has them playing as a team and believing they can and should win. That is a very successful combination. Ole Miss will host a regional and run undefeated through the regional. They lose one but still win a Super and off to Omaha.

Miss State is the same song second verse. Strong pitching and defense coupled with a complete absence of offense, particularly, in run scoring opportunities. I hate to say it, but they never get out of the regional.

Current projections show Louisville and Clemson going to Oxford. Good luck getting out of your own regional.

As for State, they're 50/50. But I bet you no school wants State coming in as a #2.

Ole Miss is one of the few teams in the country that hit the ball very well despite BBCOR bats. They play with a lot of confidence. If Rebs do not make Omaha this time, it will be a hard pill to swallow for players, coaches, and fans.

MSU is good but not great. We lack consistency and at some point you have to put 2-3-4-5 good games together back to back. We could get hot and do it, but not probable to make a long run. Pitching could get us by a bad offensive night or two, but we need to score more for sure if we are to win.

i think ole miss does it this year. the it factor for them this year is their bats whereas in previous years, pitching was their primary bread & butter. this year, pitching is their bread & hitting is their butter. i have no opinion of msu, but how bout' those Auburn Tigers - huh??? WDE!

going to go out on a limb and say state or lsu will win the tourney. they are seeing the ball incredibly well right now. they will be an extremely tough outing for anyone

It will be terribly disappointing if Ole Miss doesn't make it this season, they have the team to make it...and after today's game against Vandy it still feels real...however, if they play like they did Wed morning against Arkansas very many times in post season...it will certainly be the old OMAHA acronym for Ole Miss in 2014.

I'll predict for you real quick....as I did first of the year....LSU is going to Omaha this season...I haven't followed enough MSU baseball to honestly say, I know they are talented enough to get hot and make it for sure

I have been telling my buddies all year the the Bears "keep finding a way to win".......down two runs, no big deal, they pull it out. I told folks this was going to be the year that Bulldog fans can no longer use the OMAHA joke, and that sucks........but watching the Bears play Arkansas, I saw the same Ol' Bianco Bonehead BS that makes the bears self destruct. First of all, the bears got screwed on the call at 2nd base......Arkansas runner was tagged out but umpire called him safe. Arkansas runner is advanced to 3rd base with one out.......late in the game....and Bianco pitches to one of the Razorbacks best hitters. All the Razorbacks have ot do is pull a ball or hit a deep fly and they win........and they did exactly that! Bianco......he is one of their best hitters.....one out, runner on third......pitch around him, put him on first and set up a double play with a crappy hitter!

This Bear team has the talent and confidence to make it to Omaha.......but you Bear fans better hope you win big so Bianco doesn't have to "coach"....

We'll......their season unfolded differently than expected. If they snuck into a regional and got knocked out rather quickly I think he would have been fired.....but they made some noise, I think he has bought himself another couple of years
