suzuki Samurai - Geo Tracker

anyone ever use these for a hunting vehicle ?

how do they compare to a Polaris Ranger ?

I have a samurai and love it. It will go anywhere in the hills. Don't think I would try and ride to my duck holes in Tallahatchie with it but will take anything I have thrown at it in hills and it's been a lot. Put in 4wd and just coast across. Went across a fall disked field this winter. Had to push it some but I made it. Make sure to get some good self cleaning tires on it. Think I'm going to the old coop grip spurs. Mine is a hard top with heater and I don't think I would want the other.

My main hunting vehicle is a suzuki samurai ..... and i will challenge damn near anything in the wet stuff.... i hunt in the south delta and drive through ag fields, old sloughs, the whole nine yards and have never thought about getting stuck.... now mine is lifted and has super swampers on it but it will flat out go!! wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.... its quiet as can be and has heat

An 88 tin top, clean and not all dented and rusted is a find. They are awesome little vehicles. Our family ahs had 2. One open top and still have the tin top. Both were "built" and went rock crawling and in the mud quite a bit. Cheap to work on and upgraded parts arent that expensive. One time we had a 16' trailer loaded with deer stands going through a mud hole. Trialer axles dragging the ruts and water in the floor boards, we had it in 4 low and second gear and never touched the gas. Of course this one had lockers front and rear, low speed crawling transfer case, and other parts. They are also exactly 1' on all four sides bigger that a honda 500 forman.

I have one as well and use it primarily as my hunting vehicle. I can drive 30 miles to camp go everywhere i need to go and drive it back home when I'm done. It's not nearly as large as Grizwalds (and I can vouch for that "yellow thing" it can go anywhere) but mine goes everywhere I need to and then some with only a small yj lift. Not mention they are fun as all get out.

The one I'm looking is actually a Geo Tracker - but from what I understand they are the same truck made in the same factory.

Does the geo have straight front axles?

They may be same motor and same frame, but I am not sure the samurai and tracker are built the same.

Definitely NOT the same motor or tranny, Sammi's come stock with a 1.3 8 valve, and I believe in 90 or 91 they had EFI, older trackers have a 1.6 8v or 16v and possibly a newer one with a 2.0. A big mod is to take that tracker motor and put it in the sammi.

Basically the same. Samurai has a stright front axle, tracker has IFS. Everything else is prettych much the same. IFS is harder/more expensive to lift than samurai. I personally like the samurai better. Has more of a "jeep feel".
