Lull? Maybe?

Postby missed mallards » Sat Apr 12, 2014 9:37 am

What are y'all seeing/hearing in north ms?

I'm about to the point of throwing in the towel. Been the most uneventful sprig I've ever had. Beginning to wonder if all the long beards have met their demise. Public hunting leaves one wondering.

Just curious as to what others are experiencing.
If I don't do it, I ain't gettin nun.......So i'm doing it

I know that I have turkey's based off of sign, tracks, and trail cam photos. However, it is hard to hunt birds that won't gobble.

Who knows!!'

I haven't hunted since Wednesday, but they were gobbling like crazy where I hunt in NW Mississippi.

They are burning it up in my little piece of the state. I killed two this weekend, neither hunt lasted longer than thirty minutes.

We hunted friday-sunday in north east MS. Friday we did not hear a bird, saturday we heard 5 on the limb but nothing after they flew down and nothing on sunday. Sunday was on a different property and you could not step without stepping in a turkey track or dusting. I was floored that we did not hear a thing on sunday.

I have heard LOTS of gobbling activity over the last ten days.
