Another thing to keep in mind when selecting a holster is where the gun points while in different positions and what will you sweep if you have to draw..
For example, some shoulder holsters have the gun pointing directly behind you and the person behind you in the check out line.. With a small of the back holster you will most likely sweep your self on a draw, An with a cross draw holster you will sweep everyone on your weak side during a draw..
The number one rule is to always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.. That should be the case even if it is in the holster or on a draw..
Too many times we stick it in a holster an think it is safe, we don't ever think about where that muzzle will point when we sit, or on a draw..

Well, have you decided?
If you were to tell me "go buy a 357sig to carry concealed" I'd get the 239. Like Chevy said, add the 40 cal barrel for plinking as the same mags will work for both.
At times there is not a satisfactory substitute for well-aimed lead going down range at high velocity.

Not 100% yet. But I have to tell you, I really like the feel, look, and performance of a Sig, and after all of the recommendations for a 239 model and me looking it up, it's going to be hard for me NOT to go that route. Again, thanks for all the advice folks!iron grip wrote:cockandlock25 wrote:Thanks for the tips guys!

Speaking of a shield holster......weren't you supposed to send me a link?chevy01234 wrote:Ster wrote:I may be wrong but I believe those are double stack magazines. If you haven't CC before then let me warn you that a single stack gun is probably better. I have several hand guns of various sizes but the three that I ever CC are all single stack automatics. Springfield XDS, Ruger LC9, and Taurus slim 709. I have other subcompacts that I never CC because they are just to uncomfortable with the double stack magazines.
That is just my opinion.
Not sure which one you are referring to but the 239 is a single stack available in 9mm, 40sw, or 357 sig.
I love the Glock 23, I shoot it and my Shield about equally but I am just way more confident with the 23. The Shield is nice in the summer though. I just carry a couple spare mags instead of the one I normally carry with the Glock.

I bought the P238 Sig. fits in my front pocket lovely and concealed. The .380 may be a small caliber but i shoot this pistol really well. First time i shot it was at my CC class and scored a 100 to qualify. The grip sold me on the gun. Working on flipping the safety off as i draw.

Check out SimplyRugged.com for awesome custom leather holsters. I have recently bought two and they are worth every penny.
FYI - I have a box of Winchester 357sig that I bought on accident instead of the Magnum I needed.
I will gladly sell it to you being that now I am stuck with it. $30
